The 20th China New Energy International Forum Opens in Beijing: Focusing on Green Energy Applications and Smart Manufacturing Integration

On September 17, the 20th China New Energy International Forum (NEX2026) officially opened in Beijing. This year’s forum, themed “Expanding Green Energy Applications, Innovating Smart Manufacturing Scenarios,” brought together government agencies, international organizations, new energy enterprises, research institutions, and other stakeholders to explore high-quality development pathways for the new energy industry, focusing on the integration of green energy application scenarios and smart manufacturing.

Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration on Energy Transition

The forum is hosted by the New Energy Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFCIC), organized by Mingyang Smart Energy, and co-organized by LONGi Green Energy, Envision Group, Chint New Energy, Gotion High-Tech, and Hego Tongcheng, with active participation from multiple产业链 enterprises and institutions.

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the ACFCIC New Energy Chamber and the School of New Energy at North China Electric Power University, promoting resource integration and innovative collaboration through industry-academia-research coordination.

In keynote sessions, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former Vice President Du Xiangwan, Bloomberg New Energy Finance China Energy Transition Expert Koannan, Deputy Director Shang Zheng of the New Energy Industry Research Institute at the Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, and Mingyang Group Vice President Ye Fan, among others, delivered keynotes on energy transition, global market trends, the 15th Five-Year Plan for new energy, large-scale base development and absorption mechanisms, and supply chain collaborative innovation—providing reference points for the new energy industry’s development in the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

AI and New Energy Innovation

During the thematic dialogue session, Zhong Baoshen, President of the ACFCIC New Energy Chamber and Chairman of LONGi Green Energy; Xu Xinjian, Chairman of SunRise East; Xu Xiaohua, Chairman of Huaseng New Energy; Yu Zhuyun, Chairman of Zhonghuan New Energy; Xu Changjun, Chairman of Longshine Technology; Liu Lianyu, Deputy Director of Mingyang Group’s Strategic Committee; Huang Hu, Vice President of Envision Energy’s Wind Turbine & Equipment Platform; Wang Qiusui, Executive President of Gotion High-Tech; and Zhao Jijun, Vice President of Baiyun Electric, engaged in in-depth discussions on “AI and New Energy Innovation Applications,” further building industry consensus.

Eight Parallel Forums Covering the Full Industry Chain

The forum featured eight parallel professional forums covering wind power, photovoltaics, new energy storage, zero-carbon parks and villages, AI+new energy, hydrogen energy, new energy international cooperation, green energy and sustainable development. These sessions facilitated in-depth exchanges on technical iteration, market expansion, and model innovation.

The forum also hosted government-enterprise exchanges, strategic signings, roundtable dialogues, project matchmaking, industry promotion events, and exhibition tours, providing a comprehensive platform for policy communication, academic exchange, technology demonstration, and project cooperation for new energy stakeholders from home and abroad.

Looking to the Next Twenty Years

Attendees generally agreed that, under the new situation of accelerating integrated development in the new energy industry, the forum’s series of discussions on green energy applications and smart manufacturing scenarios provide valuable reference for the industry, helping to build consensus, expand application scenarios, and drive high-quality development.

Dr. Zeng Shaojun, Secretary-General of the ACFCIC New Energy Chamber, stated that after twenty editions, the “China New Energy International Forum” has become an important platform for new energy industry chain exchange and cooperation. This year marks the chamber’s 20th anniversary, and preparations for NEX2027 are already underway. Moving forward, the chamber will continue to contribute brand strength to industry development and work with global new energy stakeholders toward the next vibrant twenty years.
