Huadian Liaoning to Invest 170 Million RMB in 200MW/800MWh LFP Energy Storage Project

On the evening of September 16, Huadian Liaoning Energy Development Co., Ltd. announced its plan to inject 170 million RMB into its subsidiary, Huachuang (Duolun) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., for the construction of a chemical energy storage power station project.

The project has been included in the list of independent new energy storage construction projects submitted by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau in the second batch of 2026. Located at Guangming Village, Caimushan Township, Duolun County, Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia, the project will build a 200MW/800MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) grid-forming energy storage project, accompanied by the construction of a 220-kilovolt substation.

The project’s total dynamic investment amounts to 666 million RMB, with a project capital of 200 million RMB. The announcement shows that Duolun Company is a holding subsidiary co-invested by Huadian Liaoning and Inner Mongolia Zhichuang Industrial Development Investment Co., Ltd. with share ratios of 85% and 15% respectively. The current registered capital is only 1 million RMB. This time, Huadian Liaoning is contributing 170 million RMB for project construction, while Inner Mongolia Zhichuang Industrial Development Investment Co., Ltd. will contribute in the same proportion. As of the end of June, Duolun Company’s total assets amounted to 850,000 RMB.

The company stated that the development and construction of this project aligns with national energy development strategies, and its subsidiary will accelerate project development and commissioning to enhance the company’s development quality, profitability, and comprehensive competitiveness.

Huadian Liaoning also cautioned that adverse situations such as increased fixed asset investment and reduced charge-discharge volume will have a significant impact on financial rates of return. “Duolun Company will strictly control project construction costs, optimize equipment selection and engineering design during implementation; and pay close attention to maintenance and operation quality after commissioning to improve equipment reliability and unit utilization rate.”
