The Ningde Times Xiabu Energy Storage Station in Fujian Province recently participated in the East China Power Grid’s D-3 rolling day-ahead matching transaction and successfully bid for 44 megawatt-hours. This marks the first time an independent energy storage entity has participated in inter-provincial mutual assistance trading within the East China Power Grid, and represents a new approach to power mutual assistance by the Yangtze River Delta inter-provincial power platform.
The East China Power Grid’s D-3 rolling day-ahead matching transaction has been operating continuously since June 15. With continued market cultivation, trading activity by market participants has increased progressively. The daily trading volume for this type of transaction has now reached three times its initial level, with cumulative traded electricity of 114 million kilowatt-hours, driving an additional 50.14 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy absorption, and providing more flexible market space for power generation enterprises.
The Yangtze River Delta inter-provincial power mutual assistance platform plans next to promote independent energy storage in achieving two-way inter-provincial charging and discharging transactions, further expand the D-3 rolling day-ahead matching trading scenarios, and strive to play a greater role in renewable energy absorption and supply security over a wider area, contributing to the development and improvement of a unified national electricity market.
